MY NAME IS RAIN

Posted in lifestyle at 7:11 pm by chris

rain

It’s been raining for five straight days and they say this will go on for an additional four.

I like this weather because it makes everything cool – I get to wear the clothes I like, I get to enjoy sleep in the afternoon, it doubles my appetite, it sets the mood for love, I can write poetry. In short, rain is a boon, for me.

But.

Rain hinders me in a way. I don’t get to see those few peeps that make my heart skid. It tempers my motivation to do the gym. I couldn’t enjoy the drive.

Last Sunday, I braved the torrents, hitched on a bike and went to the beach. Woot. T’was one of those spur of the moment decisions that I don’t regret. Wasn’t a bad idea, see. The cold water gave me excuse to be close to someone I like (so much), excuse to strip to the waist and show off my abs, excuse to go out, excuse to play around and smoke. lol

Anyway, it’s February and I sometimes wonder if the rain is meant to be.

PAYPAL BANKING

Posted in money, tech tagged , , , at 10:16 am by chris

For all those who have Paypal accounts, you can now withdraw money to your bank accounts as of this writing. You might have noticed the rectangular “withdraw-money-to-your-Philippine-bank” ad when you login to your account plus the fact that emails were also sent, so no use for me harping about it as a news, I guess.

Anyway, it’s easy to register a Philippine bank account (I have registered my Union Bank’s). Just be sure to get the correct bank code. Apparently, there is a difference between a bank swift code and bank code. I think the latter is just part of Paypal’s idea of imposing its own world order because it is not some part of international banking standard. There is an official list (Paypal’s) of the bank codes and you will find it below.

I figured this out because, while registering my bank, Paypal is asking for a 9-digit bank code. See, Unionbank’s bank swift code is UBPHPHMM. That is one digit short. Fortunately I cannot argue with a computer because I would if I could. “But there’s only EIGHT!” (that sort of thing) So I googled the information that would prove Paypal wrong. Well, it turned out, there is a separate list, indeed. Woot. A number of techies blog the list. They corroborate each other so I take it as the real deal. lol. Seriously, Ebay has it.

Official Paypal Bank Code List

So:I would be trying this new alternative because withdrawing Paypal fund to my Eon eats up a lot of time. It distresses me a lot when it lets you wait several days more than the promised 7 business days transfer.

POLITICIZED

Posted in the republic at 9:02 pm by chris

I, along with the teeming millions across the globe, am mesmerized with the continuing saga that is the 2008 US Presidential elections. I have been glued to Yahoo’s comprehensive coverage and the Super Tuesday, particularly, fascinated me deeply. Woot, last night I even dreamed about Hillary Clinton and in retrospect, I think it’s quite disturbing. lol. Anyway, politics depresses me and Clinton’s fight with Barack Obama is reaching epic proportions. Like, I am that affected. lol.

anyway, if I am an American, who would I vote for?

It’s gonna be Clinton.
